Sonia Torrey, TLPC-MHSP
Sonia Torrey, T-LPC, NCC, CAC, is our Intensive Outpatient Coordinator (IOP), overseeing the day-to-day operations in all of our IOP treatment tracks. Sonia earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Auburn University, and her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Memphis. Sonia is a National Certified Counselor with her Temporary LPC license. She is also a Level II Certified Addiction Counselor. She is on track to achieve her LPC-MHSP license in Tennessee. She is experienced in individual and group work with children, adolescents, and adults. She has worked at the residential, IOP, PHP, and routine outpatient levels of care. She has worked with issues related to domestic violence, other trauma focused groups, anger management, depression, anxiety, addiction, and obsessive-compulsive disorder. She has direct experience with DBT programming, Motivational Interviewing, 12-step work, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Exposure Therapy, Inhibitory Learning, and other evidence-based approaches. Sonia is a member of the American Counseling Association, Chi Sigma Iota, and the National Association for Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors.
