Leah Pinkston, LPC-MHSP
Leah Pinkston, LPC-MHSP, is MHR’s IOP Coordinator. In addition to her therapist role in our IOPs, she supervises the treatment team and oversees daily program operations. She earned her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Memphis and her Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Denver with an Addiction specialization.
She has provided individual therapy to children, adolescents and adults. Her experience includes working with homeless men and women struggling with alcohol and drug addictions, providing individual and family therapy as needed. She has provided numerous types of group based treatment, including parent skills training, nicotine cessation and about the process of addiction. She has volunteered to serve in numerous roles at the Exchange Club Family Center, including their Domestic Violence, Divorce and Anger Management programs. She relies on motivational interviewing, stages of change, cognitive behavior therapy and a strengths based approach in her clinical work. She has been a Member of the Psi Chi National Honor’s Society and the Dean’s List for academic achievement.
