Makenzie Perkins, M.S., holds a graduate certificate in Clinical Mental Health and a master’s degree in Professional School Counseling from The University of Memphis. She received a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Rhodes College. She is currently licensed by the State of Tennessee in Professional School Counseling, and she is working towards the achievement of her LPC-MHSP license in Tennessee.
She is passionate about walking with individuals through all stages of their life, helping them feel heard, accepted, and safe. She believes anyone can benefit from the collaborative approach that therapy provides and would be honored to help you navigate small life stressors to large life-changing events. Her counseling approach includes developing a strong therapeutic relationship that encompasses trust, non-judgment, and empathy to help foster resilience, coping skills, and self-direction.
Using a combination of evidence-based practices, she has worked successfully with children, adolescents, and adults struggling with grief/loss, trauma, anxiety, academic issues, sports performance, self-esteem, and relational conflict.
Outside of work, Makenzie enjoys spending time with her husband, son, and dog and loves to travel internationally. She is also an avid sports fan.
