Kim McCaskill, LPC-MHSP
Kim McCaskill, LPC-MHSP, serves as Executive Director of Mental Health Resources and Mid-South Professional Counseling. She has been a mental health practitioner for eighteen years. She is an Approved Supervisor for the LPC-MHSP licensure track in Tennessee. She strives to offer a warm, professional, non-judgmental approach in all services she provides to clients. She has a special interest in chronic pain management, self-image issues, healthy lifestyle maintenance, insomnia, serving the LGBT community, and serving persons from any religious or non-religious background. She has several years of experience treating clients with depression, PTSD, anxiety, workplace stress, and addiction/substance abuse issues.
She is invested in evidence-based treatment and working with clinicians who strive to improve professionally throughout the span of their careers. She utilizes a strengths- based orientation, relying on motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral techniques, interpersonal therapy, and family of origin work to help clients achieve their goals.
Since completing her M.S. in Counseling Psychology in 2000, she has worked in both community behavioral health and commercial insurance-based facilities. She has worked in all levels of care to include routine Individual and Group Therapy, IOP, PHP, and Inpatient care. Kim was employed in MHR’s IOPs for nearly fifteen years. Much of her tenure was spent in the IOP Coordinator role. She opened a successful private practice in March of 2016, returning to MHR in August of 2018 to help open and expand a new, routine outpatient line, Mid-South Professional Counseling.
Her interests outside of work include time with her family and friends, reading, serving as a volunteer running coach for children and women, and participating in community cleanups.
