Amy Berry, LCSW
Amy Berry, LCSW, achieved her Master of Social Work degree from the University of Ilinois Urbana-Champaign. She received her Bachelor of Social Work degree from Illinois State University.
Amy uses a client-centered, collaborative approach as a mental health provider. She has provided therapy in outpatient community mental health and rape crisis centers. She works with teenagers, students, and adults who may be experiencing trauma responses, grief, depression, anxiety, and stress. She is well trained in her special interest in working with survivors of sexual trauma.
She is committed to evidence-based practice, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Psychodynamic “open talk” therapy, and Trauma Informed treatments. She believes that key components to working through painful experiences must involve a non-judgmental space for education and the development of self-talk that is rational and positive. She is open and welcoming to all cultural backgrounds and personal lifestyles.
In her free time Amy enjoys re-watching Schitt’s Creek, New Girl, and The Office. She is a big fan of Orange Theory Fitness, trying new restaurants, and hanging out with friends and family.
