Valerie Shaw, LCSW
Valerie strives to create a caring and non-judgmental environment to all clients and is passionate about assisting people of any cultural background, belief system, sexual or gender orientation and socioeconomic status. Her therapeutic approach is strength-based and mindfulness-centered.
She utilizes various, evidenced-based models that best fit a client’s preferences and personal goals including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Interpersonal Therapy. She primarily works with adolescents and adults who struggle with anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship problems, childhood issues and chronic stress.
Her educational background includes a BA in English from Lambuth University and an MSW from The University of Tennessee. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Tennessee and Arkansas with 8 years experience in an outpatient behavioral health setting.
In her free time Valerie enjoys reading, volunteering at animal shelters, exploring outdoors, and musical theater.
