Chanel Townsend, LCSW
Chanel Townsend, LCSW, received her Master of Social Work at the University of Southern California. She achieved her Bachelors of Social Work at Clark Atlanta University. She is fully licensed in the state of Tennessee.
Chanel views the relationship between client and therapist to be a key component in making progress. She is invested in building a healthy rapport in a non-judgmental environment. She has experience providing individual and family therapy. She has provided services in community health, residential, crisis care, and the veteran population. She addresses issues related to anxiety, stress, trauma, unresolved anger, depression, relationship conflicts, adjusting to life changes, and self-esteem issues. Chanel has a special interest in working with unique challenges faced by young and middle-aged adults (aka, Generation Z and Millennials).
She uses the following therapeutic methods: Motivational Interviewing, Collaborative Problem Solving, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma – Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and Aggression Replacement Training.
In her free time Chanel enjoys reading, funny movies and tv shows, Zumba, and exploring new cooking recipes.
