How Can I Afford IOP Treatment? Insurance, Short-Term Disability and More
Cost is one of the top concerns for intensive outpatient programs. How can I afford rehab? What is the price of IOP depression treatment? These are just some of the questions you may ask before signing up for a 6+ week program. Mental health and addiction rehabilitation is more affordable than most people realize, especially with the financial programs available today. Let’s take a closer look at how to manage costs for IOP treatment.
Do I Need an Intensive Outpatient Program?
Before assessing the costs, you need to decide if IOP is the right setup for you. We recommend intensive care for patients with moderate to severe symptoms. If you are in imminent danger, putting someone else in danger, or experiencing psychotic episodes, you may require inpatient care. However, if your symptoms are mild to moderate, you may do well with traditional therapy and psychiatry. You may not need to attend IOP services.
The intensive outpatient program involves group therapy and individual counseling for up to three hours a day and up to five days per week. Programs typically last for six weeks, but may fluctuate depending on their nature. They are similar to inpatient rehabilitation programs, but they do not require the patient to stay at the facility. Can I Get Short-Term Disability for Mental Health or Drug Rehab?
You may qualify for short-term disability through the state or medical leave through your employer. This will depend on your reasons for receiving IOP care. If you wish to pursue short-term disability, we will handle the paperwork for you as long as treatment is medically necessary and you are making progress with treatment. It takes some time for the state to process short-term disability claims, so we will work diligently to ensure you receive your check as quickly as possible.
